November is one of those busy months in our family; I’m going to take a break from birthday cards to show you what I just made to celebrate my parents’ 65th wedding anniversary!
My parents were married on November 17th, 1951. Vernon was 19 years old and had come home for a short leave from the Air Force; Jean was 17 years old and in her senior year of high school. Jean’s mother quickly put together a wedding at the DeWitt State Hospital chapel in Auburn, CA where she was employed. Vern went back to his military service and Jean graduated from high school at the end of the school year, and then joined her young husband where he was stationed at the Air Force base in Anchorage, Alaska.
My parents have had a wonderful life and many adventures together, and they have now reached an amazing milestone! Congratulations to Jean and Vernon Krause of Auburn, CA, back home where they began their married life 65 years ago.
I used a fall leaf motif and soft colors for my parents’ November anniversary card:
The Woodland embossing folder carries through the fall theme, and I also love how the numbers from the Number of Years stamp set fit perfectly on the largest Stitched Shapes Framelits oval.
Here are the supplies that I used to make my 65th Anniversary card. You can click on any picture for more information or to order. (Important note: The Stitched Shapes Framelits have been extremely popular! They are going out of stock fast and will go on back order soon. On November 21st they will be unavailable to order until a sufficient shipment has been received, and then Stampin’ Up! will turn the order number back on so the framelits can be ordered again.)
Wow – 65 years is amazing. I hope they have a wonderful day. I love your card too – nice idea to not make it too ‘girly’!
Thank you; glad you like my choice with this card. My folks are looking forward to having their family with them to celebrate the day!
Super card. Beautiful design for a 65th anniversary card. Best wishes to your parents on their special day. 65 years! Wow! Lovely photo.
Hugs Flo x
Thanks for the well-wishes for my parents; it really is a remarkable achievement!
