“Every saint has a bee in his halo.” – Elbert Hubbard
One thing I love about making cards, as I’m sure all card makers do, is the ability to design something special to the occasion and for the recipient that could never be found on the rack in a store. For example, when my husband and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary this year, I conceived something that would speak to him alone – a mini Beatles “White Album” with the beginning lyrics of “Revolution 9” printed on the cover,
and the lyrics to another one of the album’s songs, “Wild Honey Pie,” illustrated inside.
Why this? It was a labor of love designed to be meaningful for him alone. I have been making cards for my husband ever since we got back together, because even though we are six decades along in life now, a card like this is a reminder of who we once were;
and who we are inside and are to each other still.
(This is my 100th post and I’m dedicating it to my sweetheart, Reggie, who still likes to hold hands with me.)
