About a month ago I participated in a swap with my larger Stampin’ Up! group of fellow demonstrators, the Stampy Wackers. Although I did not make these cards myself, I did make others that I gave in trade for these. I don’t know the names of the stampers who designed these; otherwise I would give them credit.
This first card (made with the free Avant Garden Sale-A-Bration set) is a simple design with a single white flower embossed onto black cardstock, with red and white accents. I particularly like the Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine bow, and the sentiment framed in a Stitched Shapes Framelits oval. These relatively new framelits are so lovely to work with; I’m glad that Stampin’ Up! is letting us have them early even though they won’t be in print until the new catalog comes out in June!
As simple as the last card was, this one includes a myriad of elements to make it very special – Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, Red Foil Sheets, several punches and dies, and especially the fancy folded circles made from the Sending Love DSP Stack on page 15 of the spring Occasions catalog. (The only thing missing is the rubber stamping!)
Can you see how the background paper medallion was constructed? Eight 2″ circles were die cut from the Designer Series Paper, then folded in half, then folded back and forth like an accordion until triangular in shape. Then all eight scalloped triangles were laid out in a circle and attached to the card front.
Here are the products used in card #1 (the Avant Garden stamp set is listed with no price because it can only be earned free with a $50 qualifying order through Sale-A-Bration!)
