Emerald Dragonfly Thank You Card

By | January 23, 2017

Between teaching elementary students at my day job (and catching a bad cold from said students) I am a little behind on my posts! However, the dragonfly theme is continuing since the Dragonfly Dreams stamps and Detailed Dragonflies Thinlits offer many possibilities for creativity:

Emerald Dragonfly Thank You Card

This time I used the stamped image of the single dragonfly, then die cut around the outside. I’ve been in a blue-green mood for quite some time, so this card is made with a background of Pool Party cardstock, accented with Emerald Envy cardstock, ribbon and ink.

I also used one of the new Lace Doilies (142793) from the Occasions Catalog, page 51. I love these new doilies; they are white on one side and ivory on the other for greater versatility:

Other accents include the Emerald Envy Ruched Ribbon (141425) and the new Falling Petals Embossing Folder (142761) which is also in the Occasions Catalog on page 51. Here’s a tip: when I attached my sentiment strip, I used single Stampin’ Dimensionals, but when I attached the dragonfly, I stacked two Dimensionals one of top of the other to make it stand up higher than the level of the sentiment.

Here is a list of everything that I used to create my Emerald Dragonfly Thank You Card. Click on any picture to read more or to order online:

I’ve shown you cards made with the bee in this bundle, and also a couple of versions of dragonflies (with more to come!) Which image do you think you would enjoy working with the most?

Oh I love the colour scheme too. Anything in the aqua to duck egg range gets my vote. I think I need a ton of this Pool Party colour range! Your card is very pretty, and the greens are very serene!

Thanks! When I was a little girl my favorite color was blue – like the Pool Party shade – but when I grew up my favorite was was green. Now what I love best are blues and greens together. I guess I’m integrating my childhood and adulthood psyches!
