Hand Stamped Autumn Birthday Cards!

By | November 18, 2016

My husband and I have birthdays just six days apart, so after the hand stamped Halloween cards arrive, our mailbox is filled again with birthday cards at the beginning of November. Then Thanksgiving is just around the corner, so autumn cards abound for a month or so!

Reggie’s sisters made these beautiful cards for me, and once again we’ve got coordinated color schemes!

Kathy used the same Confetti embossing folder that she used on Reggie’s card, and the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to sparkle it up, but this time with the Basket of Wishes photopolymer stamp set from the Holiday catalog (142200.)  She and I worked with this set when I was visiting her last month, so I know she has enjoyed putting different elements into the baskets and then water coloring them with ink pads and Blender Pens ((102845.)

Sherry used the retired Thoughtful Branches stamp set and Beautiful Branches Thinlits dies to make her card, and one thing that I particularly like is that she used Shimmery White cardstock (101910) for her card front. It has a beautiful, subtle sparkle and is a nice, smooth surface, perfect for stamping and water coloring. The banner and ribbon design along with the die cut leaves are great focal details.

How funny that your birthdays are so close together. You do have a talented family of card makers, don’t you? Both are super.

Thanks! Yes, we encourage each other to do our best, I think, when we know our cards will be appreciated at the other end.
