Happy Anniversary – Two Ways

By | April 22, 2017

Happy 17th anniversary to my friend Susan and her husband, Emil! I made a card for them using the retiring So In Love stamp set and the Falling In Love Designer Series Paper that is now sold out and unavailable:

So In Love stamp set, Blushing Bride cardstock, Blushing Bride Sequin Trim, Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, Basic Black Archival Ink.

I usually try to show cards with current products that you can still obtain, but at this time of the year the retiring items move quickly into the “discontinued” category! So, I decided to made a second card that is very similar, but using materials that are still available for now:

So In Love stamp set, Falling Petals embossing folder (retiring), Very Vanilla, Blushing Bride and Sahara Sand cardstock.

I used the same layout for the alternative card, and substituted the Falling Petals embossing folder for the discontinued Designer Series Paper (although this embossing folder is on the retiring list, so it will only be available for a limited time.) I added Sahara Sand cardstock to this card for the Stitched Shapes die cut. I used the same Basic Black Archival Ink and a few sequins pulled off the Blushing Bride Sequin Trim roll, which is also a retiring product, and therefore only available while supplies last.

On both cards, I attached the sequins with Mini Glue Dots and adhered the Stitched Shapes circle die cut to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals foam dots.

Here are the products that are available as of this posting date. Click any image for more information or to order online. The current Hostess Code is G2VU4FJH:

This simple layout can be duplicated with other stamps, Designer Series Papers or embossing folders. Make your cards from whatever you have on hand and they will all be beautiful!

They are both really pretty. I like the soft subtle colours especially.
