Here is another one of the cards that I made for the card swap with Ann and Susan last month.
It’s called “Boho Chic” nowadays, but when I saw the Paisleys & Posies stamp set in the Holiday Catalog I was transported right back to my childhood. In those days it was bell bottom blue jeans, peasant tops and a flower in your hair, and paisley designs were a great part of that hippie look! Well, you can take the girl out of the 60’s, but you can’t take the 60’s out of the girl 🙂
I enjoyed designing this card with some of the different elements in the set. I first die cut an oval from Very Vanilla cardstock and then started stamping some of the larger images around the outer edges, then added the smaller ones until the oval was filled in. There are 18 intricate images to choose from, shown here with the matching die cutters, although I didn’t use those on this project:
The beautiful oval embossing folder is a coordinating item, called Pretty Paisleys, and the 3/8″ wide Rich Razzleberry grosgrain ribbon is also in this suite along with a couple of other colors of ribbon in a package.
I really love the colors together on this card; Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive, along with Very Vanilla:
They’ve got a very vintage feel that goes well with the ornate floral images.
Here are the products that I used to make my Flower Girl card. Click on any image to see a larger picture or for more information (and scroll all the way down to see a fun vintage photo):
Nice description of materials and technique!
Thanks, Karla… And thanks for the memories!
Very nice card. Love the colors and design.
Thank you, Diane, I’m glad you like it. The colors really put you in the mood for fall!
