Late Summer Wings and Blooms

By | August 22, 2015

Beex2The Monthly Stamp Group was over at my house this afternoon, and our cards today reflect the beauties of late summer in flowers and insects that abound at this time of year. This card, made with the new 3-step Garden in Bloom set is really quite fun and gives a casual, watercolor-y feel to the design. We used In Colors Watermelon Wonder and Hello Honey, Wild Wasabi and Memento Tuxedo Black inks, card stock and ribbon.

While the first card brings to mind a warm midsummer’s day, this next card is more reminiscent of a cool, peaceful evening:

Dragonflyx3

The squares are sponged with Perfect Plum through a mask made with the smallest Squares Collection framelits die. The dragonfly is from the new Awesomely Artistic set and is stamped in Elegant Eggplant ink on the new thicker weight Whisper White card stock. Dazzling Details glitter glue on the wings completes the calm, elegant look.

Thanks, Moana! Yesterday we were already stamping our fall cards, but it still feels like summer so bugs & blossoms are fun for now.

Such a pretty card. I have been waiting to get that set, maybe I shouldn’t wait much longer. Thanks for sharing.
