I got this card from my friend Ann, and there is a lot to love here!
Ann and I have been friends for many years; she and I met at a Stampin ‘Up! convention when we were both relatively new demonstrators. Like me, she is a stickler for details and exacting work. We both have a passion for rubber stamping, and deeply love sharing it with others. And, yes, we’ve had our share of out loud laughter over the years! I guess you could say that this card celebrates our friendship in a beautiful way.
Ann did several special things on this card using the Beautiful You set (143637 – shown on pg. 24 of the Occasions catalog.)
First, she did a masking technique by stamping the girl on the cardstock first, then stamping and cutting out another girl image on thin scrap paper. She then cut this one out, laid it on top of the first stamped image, then stamped the city skyline over the girl’s skirt in Smoky Slate ink. When she removed the cut out – voila! The buildings appear to be behind the dancing girl!
She also watercolored the image with Blender Pens and ink from her Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry and Blushing Bride Classic Stampin’ Pads. She has done a fine job of shading and blending her colors.
She also decorated this card with the Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder and some of the limited edition 3/8″ Metallic Ribbon that she received as a free gift with a minimum $50 purchase during Sale-A-Bration.
3/8″ Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack, 143601 – page 11 of SAB catalog.
This pretty ribbon comes in spools of Vanilla/Gold and White/Silver. It is a joy to work with, but we only have until March 31st to submit a qualifying order to earn this for free!

I love these stamps. You can see how precise Ann is as the card is a lovely design and a very professional finish. Super!
Yes, Ann and I have been colleagues for a long time, and I admire her work!
Ann’s card is gorgeous. Love how Ann has matched up the colour of the dress with the backing. It makes it look so stylish. I have seen and admired this “lady” stamp being used around on Pinterest. I didn’t realize it was from SU.

Thanks, I agree; the colors and layout on this card are perfect!
