Mentoring New Young Stampers!

By | March 6, 2017

Kathy Degree has been inviting her young friend Sarai to come over and stamp whenever she is visiting her grandfather, Kathy’s neighbor. Sarai is about six years old, and she has been stamping with her mentor, Kathy, for a year or two.

Recently, Sarai came over to stamp a birthday card for her grandfather – her “Pepe” as grandfathers of French-Canadian descent are known!

What a happy girl with her finished projects! And a lollipop, too 🙂

Just like quilting, embroidery and knitting, handcrafts that have been handed down for centuries, stamping can be a bonding experience for women of all ages. All it takes is a willing student and a mentor to show her how it’s done. Sweet!

And speaking of sweet things, here is a card that Kathy made and sent to us a couple of weeks ago for Valentine’s Day:

She used some Stampin’ Up! products on this card, including Rich Razzleberry cardstock and ink, a Stitched Shapes Round Framelit Die and a floral heart image from the Bloomin’ Love photopolymer stamp set.  Click on any image for more information:

I have enjoyed stamping with my 27-year-old daughter, Anne, since she was a child. Do you share your love of stamping with friends, especially of the younger generation?
