New Cards in the Spring 2017 Issue of Take Ten!

By | April 21, 2017

Well, I have to admit, this isn’t really “new” news, since the spring 2017 issue of Take Ten came out on March 1st, but I wasn’t able to write about it on my blog until now. Somehow, my Artist’s Copy of the magazine got lost in the mail, and I didn’t get a replacement until well after the April 1st issue of the Stampers’ Sampler was received!

But patience is eventually rewarded, and I can now show all of the lovely cards that my stamping colleague Suzanne Delaware and my sister-in-law Sherry Pakulski had published in this issue – along with a couple cards of my own.

First of all, on pages 18 and 19, Suzanne’s feature article showcases her fruit and vegetable cards:

Suzanne used vintage newspaper clippings along with Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper and stamps on these whimsical cards!

Next, Sherry was delighted to find two of her cards on pages 26 and 29:

These were a surprise because she had sent these cards a while back for different challenges, and is just now seeing them published. You never know when one of your cards may fit right in to a particular issue, months or years down the road.

I had two cards included on page 36 for the current layout challenge:

I had a lot of fun designing these cards using the layout template that had been provided. Here are the original pictures of these cards taken before submission:

And finally, Sherry and I both had details of our cards highlighted in “A Second Take” on page 134 (#19 and #23):

We get a lot of enjoyment designing and sending in our submissions! Thanks to Stampington & Co. and Take Ten magazine for letting us be a part of the fun again 🙂

You honor me with your inclusion. I love to look for old paper ephemera (newspapers, sheet music, booklets, etc) and on these cards I used a pamphlet on canning. Just fun!

What a great idea for a set of cards, Suzanne! I love that you use ephemera in your artwork ; it really adds that extra touch.
