Remembering a Friend

By | September 24, 2016

It is with sadness that I share that our friend Anna from the Stamp Group has passed away after a valiant fight with cancer.

Anna, Susan, Nora and Nancy sharing cards made at a group meeting.

When Anna joined our group, she was upfront about her medical condition, but she loved stamping, and getting together with the others once a month was good therapy for her! She met with us as long as she was able and enjoyed every minute.

At one time Anna herself had been a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, before her illness had required her to slow down her schedule. She told me that she searched online for SU! stamp classes that she could take, and I was honored to hear that she chose mine because in her words, she “liked my style!”

Here is a card that Anna made for me last November:

I like her style, too! Lots of texture and collage elements.

Stampin’ Up’s Mission Statement, called its Statement of the Heart, states, “To love what we do and share what we love, as we help others enjoy creativity and worthwhile accomplishments… in this we make a difference.”

Anna was a generous friend; she shared tools, materials and treats with us often during our stamp meetings. In turn, we shared time and lively conversation with her for a few hours where she could forget her cares and experience the joy of creating with like-minded friends. We will miss her.

My condolences. She sounds like a fun person, and I also liked her style from the example here.
