Romancing the Doilies!

By | March 14, 2017

Did you remember that we have two weeks left to earn free stamps and/or accessories with a minimum $50 purchase through Sale-A-Bration? Check out the link to the Sale-A-Bration catalog to see if you’ve gotten everything that you need before they retire!

I have been working with the Avant Garden photopolymer set on page 5, plus the 3/8″ Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack on page 11:

Avant Garden stamps and Gold Metallic 3/8″ Ribbon from SAB, Lace Doilies and Falling In Love DSP from the Occasions catalog.

The watercolor-style lily from Avant Garden is a beauty, and easy to use. If you already have this set, congratulations! If not, this is your chance 🙂

I have also used another of my favorite products from the Occasions catalog, the Lace Doilies that come white on one side and vanilla on the other (page 51.) On this card I cut one vanilla doily into four equal parts, and attached them to the corners of the Designer Series Paper panel. The DSP from the Falling In Love pack is a print in Vanilla and Soft Sky, mounted on a mat of Pool Party cardstock.

Avant Garden stamps from SAB, Lace Doilies and 1/4″ Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon from the Occasions catalog.

Here is a similar card, this time using a vanilla doily cut in half on the top and the bottom of the stamped Stitched Shapes Framelit oval. I just trimmed a little off of each cut side with my Paper Snips to make the doily halves more rounded on the ends. I used Pool Party and Soft Suede ink to stamp the flowers and the sentiment, and I embossed a panel of Bermuda Bay cardstock with the Fluttering Embossing Folder for the background. On both cards I raised the central oval motif up on a few Stampin’ Dimensionals foam dots.

Here are the colors that I used on both cards:

Here are the supplies that I used on both Romancing the Doilies cards. Click on any picture to read more, or to order online with Hostess Code BKQRGJWW:

I hope I have inspired you to try romancing your cards with paper doilies, a beautiful way to take your cards to another level!

Oops, sorry I missed this post! Would you believe that I have a TON of doilies to use up and it has never occurred to me to use them like this?! Thanks for another good idea!
