Star of Light Shines Tonight!

By | October 4, 2016

My past few posts have been scheduled ahead, and today is no exception, because I’ve been gallivanting around the country visiting my stamping peeps that live in the far-flung Northeast region. A year ago in September we stamped at Sherry’s house, and made these window cards:

but tonight we will be stamping at Wanda’s house, and I’ve got a preview of one project that we will be making:

star-of-wonder

Squee! What do you think?

This card is made with the new Star of Light photopolymer stamp set from the Holiday catalog and the beautiful Starlight Thinlits that coordinate with it. I made my central star with four separate die cuts layered one on top of the other, starting with a base star made of Copper Foil paper sheets, which are also new in this Holiday catalog. There are also nine sentiments in the stamp set, so it is versatile and appropriate for general greetings to specifically Christian sentiments.

One thing I want to mention about working with the Copper Foil paper sheets – it cuts beautifully, but when attaching the die cut to your card front, don’t use Snail Adhesive! I learned the hard way – even though I only applied it to the back, somehow the stickiness got onto the front of the copper surface and it was nearly impossible to get off! So, make it easy on yourself and attach copper die cuts with Mini Glue Dots! They work well for attaching the sequins too, so it’s a win-win.

Here is the color scheme for the Star of Wonder Card (plus Copper of course!)

(Use Hostess Code AG2ZCXGZ and you’ll even get a free reusable hand-stamped card from me! (Make sure you allow demonstrator contact so I’ll know where to send it.)

Hmm, did I get this “pink and copper” idea from my friend PaperPuff? For a moment there I thought I was a scintillating genius…
