Watercolor Wonder!

By | March 2, 2017

I’ve got a couple of cards here that I received in a swap, both water-colored with Sale-A-Bration sets, and just as cute as can be:

Both of these stamp sets, Hey, Chick (143331) and Tasty Trucks (143300), are available for FREE for one more month with a qualifying order through Sale-A-Bration. Check here to see what you can receive by placing a $50 order through March 31st.

But wait, there’s more: in addition to all of the offerings in the SAB brochure, Stampin’ Up! has just released this new group of free choices through March 31st (the prices listed are what they are valued at if they were for sale, but they are all free with a $50 order!)

So, let’s look at the darling swap cards that a couple of 24/7 Stampers made with their free stamp sets:
SAB Chicken Card Swap
This Hey, Chick set was the first thing that I chose from the Sale-A-Bration offerings! I love the plump hens and other images and sentiments in this set. When water-coloring with rubber stamps, it is best to use a waterproof ink like Basic Black Archival Ink (140931) to stamp the outline image, so when coloring in with ink using a Blender Pen or Aqua Painter, the outline will not bleed or smudge. (Clean a permanent ink like this off your stamps with Stazon Cleaner.) The hen and chick have been stamped on Shimmery White cardstock which is especially nice for watercoloring. This stamper used some Designer Series Paper from the Party Animal pack (142738) on her card, and the coordinating Pacific Point and Tangerine Tango cardstock makes this a bright and exciting example.
SAB Ice Cream Truck Swap
The Tasty Trucks stamp set includes lots of different items to put in the truck – cupcakes, ice cream, tacos, hot dogs, pancakes – with appropriate sentiments to match. This stamper also used some Designer Series Paper to decorate her card; the Tasty Treats specialty pack (142770) with ice cream images on one side and complementary patterns on the other. Did you know that there is a new way to water-color rather than using ink pad inks with Blender Pens or Aqua Painters? The Watercolor Pencils set (141709) includes 13 colored pencils in Stampin’ Up! shades to apply dry to the image and activate with water for a quick color treatment.
Here are some of the supplies that were used to create these cards. If you chose several of these products your order could qualify for one of these stamp sets for free. Click on any picture to see more or to order online – and remember to use the March Hostess Code (APGQ4FYD):

Water coloring with stamped images is a fun way to create some pretty impressive card art. Getting a stamp set for free is just icing on the cake!
